  1. Professor
Pay Scale Eligibility Credit Points
Pay band-4 Rs.67000–79000/- (HAG Scale)
  • Educational Qualification: An eminent scholar with a Doctoral/Ph.D degree.
  • Experience: Six years experience as Professor with AGP Rs.10,000/- or Rs.10,500/- in an Institute of National Importance.
Cumulative essential credit points are 150
Pay band-4 AGP Rs.10000/-
  • Educational Qualification: An eminent scholar with a Doctoral/Ph.D degree in relevant or concern discipline.
  • Experience: 10 years experience after Ph.D OR 13 years total working experience, out of which 07 years should be after Ph.D degree. 13 years experience should at the level of Associate Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9500 Or 04 years experience at the level of Associate Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9000/-.
  • Publication: Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
Cumulative essential credit points are 80
  1. Associate Professor
Pay Scale Eligibility Credit Points
Pay band-4 AGP Rs.9000/-
  • Educational Qualification: An eminent scholar with a Doctoral/Ph.D degree in relevant or concern discipline.
  • Experience: Six years experience after Ph.D out of which 03 years at the level of Assistant Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000/- OR 09 years total working experience, out of which 03 years after Ph.D., at the level of Assistant Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000/-.
  • Publication: Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
Cumulative essential credit points are 50
  1. Assistant Professor
Pay Scale Eligibility Credit Points
Pay band-3 AGP Rs.8000/-
  • Educational Qualification: Doctoral/Ph.D degree in relevant or concern discipline.
  • Experience: Three years experience after Ph.D OR 06 years total teaching/research.
Cumulative essential credit points are 20
Pay band-3 AGP Rs.7000/- (On contract)
  • Educational Qualification: Doctoral/Ph.D degree in relevant or concern subject.
  • Experience: 01 year post-Ph.D experience of teaching and research.
Cumulative essential credit points are 10
Pay band-3 AGP Rs.6000/- (On contract)
  • Educational Qualification: Doctoral/Ph.D degree in relevant or concern discipline.
  • Experience: No experience is required.
No essential credit points are given.

Note: For Department of Architecture Faculty Qualification standard for the posts of Assistant Professor is given below without insisting on credit point requirements.
Level-I — Assistant Professor (PB-3 with AGP Rs.6000/-): M.Arch or M.Plan qualified with One year professional experience.
Level-II — Assistant Professor (PB-3 with AGP Rs.7000/-): M.Arch or M.Plan with Two years of professional experience.

  2. Dear sir, my qualifications are as follows
    M Tech (ECE) from Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam in 2005 with 75%.
    M.Sc. (Electronics) from Nagarjuna University, Guntur in 2001 with 71%.
    B.Sc. (Electronics) from Nagarjuna University, Guntur in 1999 with 69 %.
    Intermediate from Ideal Junior College, Dilshuknagar, Hyderabad in 1996 with 64%
    SSC from Eton Temple High School, Hyderabad in 1994 with 69%.
    Am I eligible for teaching in engineering college,
    JNTU did not ratify me.

    1. JNTUs are not eligible for draw lines for qualifications for all india level . with BE/ MSc and M.Tech. / PhD in Electronics you are most eligible to teaching BE/ME/M.TECH in many universities. what the hell with JNTU.look AICTE Norms . Unfortunatly JNTU donot follow AICTE

    Is distance mode MBA is eligible or qualified to take up a career in academics as faculty or professor.

    1. According to the latest trends, the full-time degrees are being preferred by the recruiters. In case of MBA, this trend is going much higher.

  4. I am a Ph.D. in mathematics. But my M.Sc.(FIRST DIVISION)in mathematics is from Osmania university through M.Sc. external examinations December 1995.
    Am I eligible to work in engineering college or MBA college as a faculty?
