CTET Eligibility Criteria
The CTET exam is to be conduct for two levels. Level-I is for Teacher candidates of classes 1 to 5 i.e PRT whereas Level-II is for classes 6 to 8 i.e TGT. The CTET Eligibility Norms for both the levels is given below.
Educational Qualification for CTET Level-I:
- Senior Secondary pass with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or JBT); OR
- Senior Secondary pass with 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or JBT), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002; OR
- Senior Secondary pass with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); OR
- Senior Secondary pass with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education);OR
- Graduation degree and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or JBT).
Educational Qualification for CTET Level-II:
- Graduation degree and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or JBT).;OR
- Graduation degree with 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed);OR
- Graduation degree with 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard;OR
- Senior Secondary pass with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed);OR
- Senior Secondary pass with 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed;OR
- Graduation degree with 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

CTET Syllabus 2024
CTET Exam Syllabus is different for both papers. CTET Paper-1 aims to evaluating the knowledge of Languages I and II, Child Development and Pedagogy, Math, and Environmental Studies. Language paper consists of unseen passages, inference, grammar and verbal ability. For this read the CBSE books of primary standard i.e Classes I–V CTET Syllabus. On the other hand, CTET Paper-2 assess language skills and subject knowledge. Similarly read matric standard books of CBSE for this paper.
